PRESIDENT Joseph N. Boakai Sr.’s Dilemma:

JNB

By: Darwon Nuhn

What should I do with the power given me,

A responsibility heavy as the deepest sea.

With a broken economy, a puzzle unsolved,

I ponder solutions, for the problems evolved.

What should I do with healthcare in despair,

A system broken, cries hanging in the air.

Elicit drugs claim our youth’s vibrant bloom,

A pressing darkness, a relentless gloom.

What should I do with roads in disarray,

Infrastructure shabby, dreams in decay.

In the face of a food security crisis,

I seek paths to nurture, not just compromises.

What should I do with lacking necessities,

Basic needs unmet, amidst life’s complexities.

With a majority unemployed, dreams deferred,

I strive for a nation where potential’s stirred.

What should I do with sycophants’ loyalty,

A delicate dance with shadows of royalty.

Corrupt officials weave a twisted tale,

In the quest for justice, shall I prevail?

What should I do with opposition’s might, yearning for failure, as their dubious desires burn .

In this tumultuous sea, should I rise above,

Break the chains, set free thoughts of love.

What should I do for a brighter tomorrow,

A leader’s journey filled with hope to borrow.

To navigate storms and chart a new way,

For a nation’s dawn that welcomes the day.
