Liberian Security Forces Secure Sorlumba Border Crossing After Standoff with Guinean Troops

Lofa County, Liberia: – Liberian National Security forces have secured the Sorlumba Port of Entry in Foya District, Lofa County, following a days-long territorial standoff with Guinean troops.

On Wednesday evening, March 11, 2026, a high-level security delegation arrived at the border to stabilize the situation. The team was led by the Deputy Inspector General of Police for Operations, Col. J. Nelson Freeman, who headed the intervention aimed at restoring calm and reinforcing Liberia’s presence in the disputed area.

Authorities say the deployment is intended to maintain peace, ensure the safety of residents, and prevent any further escalation along the Liberia, Guinea border.
