ArcelorMittal Liberia has presented a cheque of thirty five thousands (35,000 USD) United States Dollars to the Gbapa Development Association for the construction and completion of the Gbapa Clinic.
The clinic when constructed will serve over five thousand residents of the town including other surrounding towns and villages.
It can be recalled that on January 5, 2022, ArcelorMittal Liberia promised to give the Gbapa people third five thousands United States Dollars as their contribution to the clinic project.
Initially, ArcelorMittal Liberia provided fifty thousands (50,000 USD) United States Dollars worth of materials as their initial contribution to the Gbapa Clinic project and promised to do more until the project is completed.
Presenting the cheque on behalf of AML, Mr Marcus Wleh said it was the company commitment to the people of Gbapa for the clinic as it will benefit every Liberians not only the people of Gbapa.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of the people of Gbapa, former Liberia Post and Telecommunication Director Dr Frederick Nokeh thanked the AML family for the gesture and called on them to do more when it comes to community engagement.
Gbapa is located in AML affected community area with in district #3 Nimba County.
At the same time, AML has presented a cheque of one thousand one hundred forty four (1,144) gallons fuel cheque to the people of Yarmein Administrative District in district #3 Nimba County for the construction of roads.
According to the AML family, the donation of the fuel to the people of Yarmein Administrative District will help to ease the burden on them as they continue Thier road project.
When completed, the road project will connect over seven (7) towns and villages thereby creating easy access to farm to market roads in that part of Nimba County.
The donations were made on May 23, 2022 in Camp #4 , Yekepa, Nimba County.
