Kpeletuo, Nimba County Liberia West Africa: – Kpeletuo is one of the traditional towns in Lower Nimba County if not Nimba County located just at the bank of Nuu- River in Doe Administrative District, one of the five administrative districts that makeup Nimba County Electoral District Nine which is represented at the 54th Legislature by Prof. Rep. Johnson N Gwaikolo.

On December 26, 2022 in Zekepa at a well-attended Nimba County Electoral District Nine 2022 Christmas celebration held by Rep Gwaikolo and the citizens of the district, he provided detailed legislative report and assured the citizens of Mehnsonnoh and Doe Administrative Districts about the rehabilitation of the Ganwee-Kpeletuo road and the back filling of the Nuu- Bridge which construction started by the former lawmaker of the district immediately in January 2023.

This promised has been fulfilled finally as scores of development loving citizens continue to celebrate for this great initiative couple with street solar lights for every town as the installation team is across the district providing street solar lights for the first of its kind across Nimba County Electoral District Nine.

Citizens from every community across the district are certainly pleased because there is absolutely no single town in Nimba County Electoral District Nine which is comprising of at least 78 towns that Rep Johnson N Gwaikolo has not touched with some development initiative be a self-help, personal etc says District Coordinator Yohn Biah.

The road rehabilitation including several other projects are projects financed personally by the lawmaker except for the bridge constructions which are ongoing across the district that is funded by Nimba County Social Development Fund said, Moses Wonsiah Sector Representative for Doe Administrative District in the Office of Nimba County Electoral District Nine.

Citizens can now gathered under the lights which has even given more energy to Rep Johnson N Gwaikolo in lobbying for more lights, Moses added.

Today across Nimba County Electoral District Nine from 7:00PM to 6:00AM each town has relatively one, two or three street lights and it is our hope that more going to come as the citizens are extremely happy to say the least. Said Evelyn Paye a female Technician who hails from Zahnzayee but responsible in during the installation of all the solar street lights provided by Rep. Johnson N Gwaikolo.

“Distribution of these lights and chain saw were done by the local authority of the district and we are pleased with their involvement of ongoing development activities across the district. We are committed to serving all our citizens and we are humble by their daily encouragement and support given us as we together move for the second term in October 2023. We are calling all our citizens to allow our peaceful coexistence which has given us a space of growth since 2017 till now” said Rep Johnson N Gwaikolo

On the other hand, reports coming in from Kpeletuo have it that, after the completion of the road rehabilitation and back-filling of the bridge while citizens were celebrating around 9:00PM in the night accordingly the yellow machine gutted by fire.

“What is surprising was for a parked diesel machine not gasoline to be gutted by fire while it was parked taking into consideration the cool weather condition herein Kpeletuo is something that needs full investigation. We want a full investigation into this as it is almost not possible except for some evil minded people who may not want development in this region or who may not want for Hon. Gwaikolo to achieve which he has already achieved” said an Elder of Kpeletuo

It is not clear yet what really caused the fire as citizens are concerned and investigation continues.

As you may record, October 2023 is set for Liberia General Legislative and Presidential Elections and every electoral district in Liberia will be heavily contested which Nimba County Electoral District Nine is of no exception.

What is equally important to note is the civility of activities leading to the election processes.

As seen in other districts across Liberia, Nimba County Electoral District Nine has never reported any elections violence and this is something stakeholders one and all will need to maintain.

Few weeks ago, we saw trending photos and video from Saclepea City where people believed to be supporters of Musa Bility one of those petitioned to contest for the Representative seat which is currently occurred by Hon. Roger S. W. Y. Domah was seen beating and placing a citizen in the back of a CPP pickup truck something that has since claimed the attention of Civil Society Actors, Stakeholders one and all.
