Dorgbor Town, Nimba County Liberia: – Gbi&Doru Administrative District is one of the 19 Administrative Districts in Nimba County that borders, Rivercess, Bassa, Sinoe and Grand Gedeh Counties. It is densely covered by rain forest and it is said to have many of the protected wildlife in Nimba. Many researchers have said, it has other natural mineral resources but has no improve healthcare, schools etc.

As you may be aware, this administrative district is made up of two chiefdoms (Gbi Chiefdom and Doru Chiefdom).

“Before 2017, citizens of Gbi&Doru decided to move to Rivercess County because of the manner in which we were treated by Nimba County Authorities mainly the Legislative Caucus/County Authorities. A county that we supposed to be inhabitants of, we were seen as strangers and were told we are not significant for which our children were not going to hold any major county position(s) in the County. There is still a gap but we are close at the moment. Former Senator Thomas Grupee is an exception for which he built a school here. You (Rep. Gwaikolo) stood by us in this fight to not leave and that if you win you will make sure that Gbi&Doru is fully a part of all Nimba County developmental activities and benefits thereof. Today we are witnesses of those promised made in 2017 and we now for the first time since 1964 had a sitting President of the Republic of Liberia Dr. George M. Weah to have visited us and we have a Health Center project almost to completion because of that. He has a farmland here as a result of that visit.  There are two Lonestar receivers in two of our major towns. Lastly, we have companies that are now providing benefits unlike in time passed  to the district as per their contracts and one of our sons is directly working in our district office at Capitol Hills” said a Mother who sat on the floor as tradition demands to honour a special and impactful personality.

Citizens who awaited the arrival of Rep. Johnson N. Gwaikolo and entourage till morning hours in Dorgbor Town committed their full support in re-electing him for delivering on his promises made to them in 2017. Citizens had along the route meetings and conversations pledging their supports for the re-election of Rep Gwaikolo and Pres. George M. Weah.

At a jam-packed town hall endorsement ceremony, the counts provided above were used by citizens as their commitment to Rep. Gwaikolo and Pres. George M Weah.
