Kpaytuo Town, District 7, Nimba County: –  A prominent son of Kpaytuo Township, Mr. Adonis Davis Menlor, Chief Executive Officer of MA Queen Fueling Stations in Liberia, has launched a reconciliation football tournament aimed at restoring unity among residents of Kpaytuo Town in District 7, Nimba County.

The tournament, which kicked off on Sunday, March 8, 2026, is designed to bring together the seven quarters of the town in an effort to address long-standing differences and strengthen community ties.

During the launching ceremony, Mr. Menlor donated seven sets of jerseys and ten footballs to the participating quarters to support the competition. The donation was warmly welcomed by residents and local leaders who gathered for the opening event.

In addition to the sporting materials, Mr. Menlor announced that the closing ceremony will feature a community feast. He disclosed that one cow will be slaughtered and fifteen 25kg bags of rice will be provided for the seven quarters to share as part of the celebration.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Menlor reflected on the strong sense of unity that once characterized Kpaytuo Town, noting that the community is no longer as united as it was during their childhood years in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

According to him, divisions have gradually emerged within the town over the years, with some families no longer speaking to each other due to land disputes, political differences, and other conflicts.

Mr. Menlor emphasized that the reconciliation tournament is intended to create an opportunity for residents to set aside their differences and rebuild the spirit of togetherness that once defined the community.

“This process is meant for all citizens of Kpaytuo to settle their differences, whether they are political, family-related, or land disputes,” he said. “It is important for our town, which was once united, to come together again and focus on development.”

The MA Queen Fueling Stations CEO also clarified that the initiative has no political motive. He stressed that he has no intention of contesting the representative seat in District #7 in the 2029 elections.

Mr. Menlor further urged residents to move beyond past grievances and focus on building a peaceful and progressive community.

The tournament officially kicked off on Sunday, with the opening match between two of the town’s quarters ending in a goalless draw (0–0).

The reconciliation tournament is expected to run until March 15, 2026, when trophies and cash prizes will be awarded to the winning teams during the closing ceremony.
