Today, we address you not merely as supporters of democracy, but as resolute champions of integrity, justice, and genuine leadership. We speak like those who carry the aspirations of the people in our hearts, determined to see a future where leadership reflects the true will of the suffering masses.
In these trying times, key Executive Members of Friends of Tingban (FOT): Lawrence Fehn (Youth Wings Chair, FOT), Hecton S. Vaye (National Secretary General, Jerry Magbe Dahn (Senior Advisor, FOT), courageous leaders, have been forced to confront a harsh reality. We can no longer stand by idly as the sacred principles of fair competition are trampled upon for the selfish ambitions of a few.
The blatant manipulation and undermining of the people’s will, solely for personal gain, is a direct affront to our collective struggle. This betrayal threatens to deny Nimba County its rightful voice by obstructing the aspirations of the masses, the grassroots who have risen in resolute support of Madam Edith Gongloe-Weh, a woman of unwavering character and dedication. She is the candidate who has emerged as the undeniable choice of Nimba County for the Senate in the upcoming by-election.
It is in the spirit of unwavering patriotism and hearts filled with love for our country and nation that we boldly declare our total and unconditional endorsement of Madam Edith Gongloe-Weh as the next Senator of Nimba. We call upon all our fellow Nimba citizens, and every progressive mind to rise and stand united. Together, let us forge a path to victory and rid our county of the toxic grip of showmanship, brutality, and arrogance.
Why Madam Edith Gongloe-Weh?
Madam Edith Gongloe-Weh has never faltered in her dedication to the people of Nimba. Her tenure as Superintendent stands as a testament to her selfless service and visionary leadership. Under her stewardship:
• The Nimba County Community College (NCCC) was established through collaboration with the Nimba Legislative Caucus, now thriving as Nimba University, empowering hundreds of young Nimbaians to become agents of change.
• She championed the Nimba Social Development Fund, ensuring scholarships were made accessible to countless students, easing the financial burden of education.
• Her leadership inspired multiple victories in the National County Meet, igniting pride and unity across Nimba.
• As a leader in the Concerned Women Working Group, she amplified the voices of women and mobilized grassroots support for social progress and political participation.
Madam Gongloe-Weh’s resilience and dedication to Nimba’s collective interests have never wavered. Her leadership is one of service, not spectacle, progress, not personal gain.
Our Justification for Concerned
We stand firm in our refusal to elevate individuals of arrogance and intolerance to the esteemed Senatorial office. Let it be remembered that during the 53rd Legislature, some of those now seeking this sacred seat were censured by their peers for acts of disorderly conduct and unprincipled behavior.
Furthermore, those who mock the dignity of womanhood and desecrate the cultural traditions of our land through derogatory remarks and vile actions are unworthy of representing Nimba. Such individuals, when entrusted with a sliver of power, have exhibited nothing but confusion and self-interest. Their lack of vision and moral authority should serve as a cautionary tale, not a qualification for leadership.
We recall, with bitter sorrow, how some among these individuals betrayed the memory of our fallen, celebrated Senator — the very leader who paved the way for their political relevance. Yet, driven by greed and the thirst for unchecked power, they now seek to claim the mantle of leadership. This insult to the people’s trust shall not stand.
Finally, we reject the regressive notion that women belong solely in the kitchen. Such an ideology has no place in our democracy. Nimba’s daughters and sons are equal inheritors of leadership. Madam Edith Gongloe-Weh represents not just the strength of Nimba’s women but the collective resolve of all Nimbaians who believe in progress, dignity, and respect.
A Call to Action
Fellow citizens of Nimba, history beckons us to action. Let us write our names in the eternal ledger of progress by defeating the forces of arrogance and oppression. Let us ensure that Nimba’s voice echoes through the chambers of the Senate — a voice of reason, resilience, and righteous leadership.
We pledge our unwavering commitment to stand with Madam Edith Gongloe-Weh. Together, we shall cast our votes for a leader who embodies our values and aspirations. The days of political showmanship are numbered. The spirit of the people will prevail.
Long live Nimba!
Long live Madam Edith Gongloe-Weh!
Long live the spirit of justice and democracy!
In Solidarity and Strength,
Key Executive Members of Friends of Tingban (FOT)
