Breaking News!! Fire Destroyed Saclepea Comprehensive Doctors Resident

Saclepea Nimba Liberia: In the early hours of Wednesday February 15, 2023 a four bed room house belonging to Obey Dolo hosting the Resident Doctors of Saclepea Comprehensive Health Center gutted by fire in Gondoun Community Saclepea Nimba County. This house was been rented for the Resident Doctors outside the premises of The Saclepea Comprehensive Health Center.

Throughout Nimba D-9 TV live coverage though with poorer internet connectivity, there was no presence of The Liberia Fire Service Officer(s) or other trained fire fighters in helping the victims. Citizens including the victims watched their home burning including other valuable items.

Our reporter did not also see any fire extinguisher (s) being used during the incident.

No death has been reported so far as unconfirmed reports have it that the cause of the fire is said to be linked to electrical faults.

The house was occurred by Dr. David D.  Mulbah and Dr. Karwulo Gbehmgeim two Resident Doctors working at the Saclepea Comprehensive Health Center including other medical practitioners

According to the occupants, USD$2,000 plus belonging to Doctor Mulbah, USD$900 belonging to Doctor Karwulo, and over LRD$1million which was intended to have been deposited for Saclepea Comprehensive Health Center all got burnt in the house. Other valuable items that were also destroyed according to the occupants are, four (4) flat screen televisions, 5 (five) laptop computers, 2(two) cell phones belonging to Doctor Mulbah, Clothes, amongst others.

The estimated cost of the building is at USD$20,000

In another development, J. Alexander Nyahn Jr of CHESS-Liberia and The National Civil Society Council of Liberia who hails from the Saclepea region has provided his house in the Billionaire Community in Saclepea to host the displaced Resident Doctors including those Health Practitioners affected.

Because of the situation all efforts made in speaking with the City Major of Saclepea Mayor Jerry B.Yangian was not fruitful.

 Saclepea is located in the heart of Nimba County Liberia (sometimes spelled “Saglelpie” on world maps) was a town of more than 12,000 citizens in 2008 according to LISGIS 2008 Census.  Residents of Saclepea are predominantly from the native Mah or Mano tribe, and they speak the Mano dialect. As a city there are equally other tribe speaking people residing in Saclepea including Africans from other counties and those from the west.  During Liberia’s civil war, Saclepea was a primary recruiting and training area for child soldiers, many of whom still reside in the city. Now, Saclepea hosts one of Liberia’s regional offices of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees including a camp for refugees from Ivory Coast situated on the outskirts of town which is while MSF and the Government of Liberia including other partners provided now Saclepea Comprehensive Health Center in helping solve some of the medical issues of those living in and around Saclepea.

Saclepea Comprehensive Health is attending to thousands of citizens health needs in that part of Liberia West Africa and Imagine in 2008 Saclepea had the population of 12,000 inhabitants which was 15 years ago.

This situation will have to be investigated by the relevant government agencies.
