Monrovia, Liberia: – In a remarkable display of unity and progressive leadership, Nimba County Electoral District 9 Representative Taa Z. Wongbe continues to champion peace, collaboration, and development, values he has upheld since he was elected a member of the 55th Legislature.
Immediately following his victory, Rep. Wongbe demonstrated statesmanship by bringing together all candidates who contested the 2023 elections, including the late Prof. Johnson N. Gwaikolo, the former lawmaker of the 54th Legislature. Citizens widely celebrated this move as the dawn of a unifying leadership era in District 9.
Notably, Rep. Wongbe is the first representative from the Doe Administrative District since the formation of Nimba County Electoral District 9, which encompasses Yarwin Mehnsonnoh Statutory District, Gbi-Doru Administrative District, and Doe Administrative District.
Today marked another defining moment of unity and reconciliation as Odysseus Dekpeh, a prominent son of Doe Administrative District and one of Rep. Wongbe’s challengers in the 2023 elections, met with the lawmaker to strengthen their partnership. The meeting underscored a shared commitment to moving Nimba County District 9 forward through collective action and inclusive development.
Mr. Dekpeh, who contested under the Movement for Reconstruction and Development, a party once backed by the late Nimba County’s longest-serving Senator Prince Y. Johnson, expressed his willingness to work collaboratively with Rep. Wongbe in advancing the district’s development agenda.
The growing cooperation between Rep. Wongbe and his former rivals signals a powerful message of reconciliation, unity, and purpose-driven leadership, one that many citizens believe will continue to shape Nimba County’s path toward sustained peace and development.
