ArcelorMittal Liberia Deepens Commitment to Youth Empowerment: 60 New Apprentices Begin Technical Training for National Workforce Development

AMLTA

Yekepa, Nimba, Liberia: Yesterday marked another major milestone in ArcelorMittal Liberia’s investment in the future of Liberia’s workforce. Sixty (60) young Liberians were officially welcomed into Batch 6 of the ArcelorMittal Liberia Training Academy (AMLTA) in Yekepa, Nimba County.

Over the next three years, these apprentices will undergo rigorous technical training in various disciplines, equipping them with the hands-on skills needed to thrive in Liberia’s growing industrial and economic sectors. This initiative is a cornerstone of our continued commitment to capacity building and job creation in our host communities and across Liberia.

During the matriculation ceremony, AMLTA Training Manager Mr. Victor Loubser highlighted the transparent and inclusive dual recruitment process. 31 apprentices were selected through national recruitment, while 29 came from fence line communities directly surrounding our operations. He expressed pride in seeing a new generation of Liberian talent embark on this transformative journey.

AMLTA Administrator Amos Dawhea and Human Resources representative Mr. Burphy Herron also delivered powerful messages of encouragement. They urged the apprentices to remain focused, be courageous, and embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead.

At ArcelorMittal Liberia, we believe that investing in people is the most sustainable path to national progress. Through AMLTA, we continue to empower young Liberians with marketable skills that contribute to personal growth, community development, and national transformation.

Welcome, Batch 6 – the future artisans and professionals of Liberia!
