Though Hon. Gwaikolo, the highest winner of the Nimba Inter Electoral District League lost out to Hon. Larry P. Younquoi, Nimba County Electoral District Eight was declared the winner for the first time in a penalty shoot-out against defending champions Nimba County Electoral District Nine (9) at the open-air Gompa Sports Stadium on Sunday, but he remains very determined that indeed there are real talented youths in Nimba in the areas of soccer including other disciplines and we are pleased.

For his part, Nimba County Superintendent Nelson N. Korquoi with a smile on his face expressed heartfelt appreciation to ArcelorMittal-Liberia for their timely support to the Nimba Inter Electoral District League for the very first time. “I am happy for ArcelorMittal-Liberia (AML) intervention which enables us to successfully come to the end of this all-important Inter Electoral District League under the theme: Sustaining the Peace through Sports. As you can see, on this high table, Former Superintendent Madame Edith Gongloe-Weh, Nimba County Head of Traditions, Chief Peter Barloun, Hon. Johnson N. Gwaikolo, Hon. Gonpue L. Kargon, Hon. Larry P. Younquoi, the ArcelorMittal-Liberia (AML) Team, and thousands of citizens who have come from far and near to cheer either Nimba District Eight or Nine are all in good spirits to be entertained and we are happy. ArcelorMittal-Liberia (AML) staff Mohammed Dennis Kontay took the Grand-Finals kickoff and awarded the winning team appreciating all sides for their level of good sportsmanship. “ArcelorMittal-Liberia (AML) is very pleased to have wonderful young sons and daughters of Nimba displaying real professionals’ talents through sports. AML will continue to provide the needed support as we together Transform Tomorrow’’ Kontay AML said.
