Garr-Bain, Nimba County Liberia: – Living Water International – Liberia (LWI) holds two (2) days Program Review Meeting in Garr-Bain WASH Program Area, Gompa City, in Nimba County Liberia West Africa.
Living Water International is a faith-based non-profit organization that helps communities in developing countries to create sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene programs in response to the global water crisis and Liberia is one of the developing countries that this organization is working.
The two days meeting brings together, stakeholders from the Religious Community, Bain-Garr District Commissioner, Chiefs & Elders including representative from the Nimba County Administration, WASH Commission Family, representative from the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, representative from the Ministry of Public Works, Mayor of Gompa City, Community Leaders amongst others.
During the overview of the meeting, The Country Director of Living Water International-Liberia Office, Austin Nyaplue said, this year we are doing things differently with focus on the new strategy known as OVERFLOW25. According to him, OVERFLOW25 is a strategic plan that will guide Living Water International through 2025 and consists of winning aspiration, a neighbor-centric focus, guiding positions, and action steps.
He furthered stressed that the objectives of the meeting are to assess progress of achievement made in the Garr-Bain WASH Program Area (WPA), to review major constraints, challenges and bottlenecks encountered during the implementation, identify and draw lessons learned that will inform subsequent WASH Programs, identify key priority activities from July 2022 to June 2023 program and to develop Sustainability action plans for current and future programs.
He however alerted that, Living Water International is currently working in Seventeen Countries in the world and they have constructed nineteen thousands hand pumps with over six million people benefiting globally.
He furthered informed, the participants that, Living Water was founded in 1990 and that their funding does not come from USAID, EU or the United States of America but rather come from the Churches.
Living Water International with its Mission & Vision Statement states that,
Living Water exists to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately needed clean water, and to experience “Living Water”-The gospel of Jesus Christ – which alone satisfies the deepest thirst.
In separate remarks, the participants thanked Living Water International family for all they continue to do in their respective communities as it relates to providing clean, safe drinking water with the sweet gospel of Jesus Christ and called on them to do more.
The two days meeting started on July 21, 2022 and is expected to end on the 23rd of July 2022 with presentation on feedback and panel discussion on sustainability.
